Aim of the event
The aim of ”Points of View on Translation” conferences is to engage the local academic and professional community, including students, lecturers, translation companies, and linguists. This year's one-day event will focus on the theme "Potential and Challenges of Modern Language Technologies." Our aim is to gather eminent researchers and translation industry professionals to explore the opportunities and obstacles presented by cutting-edge technological solutions, particularly the increased automation of translation workflows and the utilisation of neural machine translation (NMT) engines and AI tools (such as LLMs). The event is co-organised by the Chair for Translation Studies, Jagiellonian University, and Directorate-General for Translation, European Commission as a Translating Europe Workshop.
